Discovery Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Aptamer Discovery Group

We presently have a critically important Discovery Scientist/ Sr. Scientist position available within our Aptamer Discovery Group. The role involves utilizing our in vitro selection technology (SELEX) to generate aptamers for our company’s internal and partnered therapeutic discovery programs.

Manager, Quality Assurance

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance professional to provide quality compliance support to Archemix’s developmental drug candidates. The successful candidate will write, review, approve and implement product quality related policies and SOPs as required. Responsibilities also include performing document review of batch manufacturing and analytical test records for compliance and release of final product; internal and external auditing; reviewing and approving validation documents and technical reports.

Principal Investigator/Senior Scientist, Drug Metabolism Pharmacokinetics (DMPK)

The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department at Archemix is seeking a highly motivated individual with proven abilities who will be involved in the design, execution, supervision, interpretation and communication of PK/ADME and bioanalytical studies. These studies will enable the optimization and selection of aptamer for drug development candidates, and provide assessment of their PK/ADME characteristics to support drug development.

Research Associate, Discovery Chemistry

Responsibilities: The candidate will set up and conduct high-throughput oligonucleotide synthesis for milligram (mg) quantities of multiple compounds. Using mass spectroscopy and HPLC, he/she will perform routine quality control on compounds. In collaboration with other Scientists, the candidate will troubleshoot and conduct method development. The candidate will distribute compounds to Archemix end users.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 1+ years of hands-on experience in the solid phase synthesis of oligonucleotides. Familiarity with ESI-MS technique and strong anion exchange HPLC experience is welcomed. Prior experience working on Bioautomation MerMade 192 or similar would be preferred. Working as part of cross functional teams, the candidate must be comfortable presenting data in a variety of settings. He/she will be expected to prepare appropriate documentation for discovery synthesis work.

Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Aptamer Discovery

We presently have a critically important Discovery Research Associate/Senior Research Associate position available within our Aptamer Discovery Group. The role involves utilizing our in vitro selection technology (SELEX) to generate aptamers for our company’s internal and partnered therapeutic discovery programs.

Sr. Director/ Vice President of Business Development

This role will be responsible for all aspects of Archemix’s Business Development activities. Specifically, developing the company’s business development strategy consistent with corporate strategy; responsibility for implementing all aspects of deal negotiations (in- and out-licensing, product deals, technology deals etc.) either directly or through the use of departmental resources; coordination with key functional groups (e.g. legal, R&D) to support business development and company goals. This is a key senior management role in a deal-oriented company and is a highly visible position in a fast-paced organization. The successful candidate will be required to interact with senior executive management, business professionals and scientists both internally and outside the company on a regular basis and will be a member of the senior team that develops and monitors the company’s strategy.
